I had that problem too in one season. The game said there were 381 draftees and none showed up on the eligible players screen. It isn't easy to draft players when you can't see their names or stats. I can't get to my draft screen now, but when the draft list screen comes up, there are 4 tabs above it. The second tab from the left had some filter turned on that prevented the names from showing. I simply cleared the tab (I think by clicking on "default") and the names reappeared instantly.
