Magnificent image of Brower, thank you.
Here is an uncapped image of Mike Gonzalez with the 1924 St. Louis Cardinals.
Gonzalez made his Major League debut with the 1912 Boston Braves, appearing in just a single game.
He returned in 1914 to just spend one season with the Reds as back-up to Tommy Clarke. He joined the Cardinals in 1915 for the first of 3 stints in the National League with St. Louis. This first stint was for 4 seasons. Mainly as a back-up to Frank Snyder he established himself as the starting catcher in 1918.
He joined the Giants in 1919 and saw limited action until he fell out of the Majors after 1921. Returning to the majors in 1924 with the Cardinals he established himself as the starting catcher. He left the Cardinals during the 1925 season for the Cubs. He was backing up Gabby Hartnett but in 1929 when Hartnett's appearances were limited it was Zack Taylor who took on the starting role. He returned in 1931 to the Cardinals at the end of his career but saw limited action in 1931 &1932.
