Game 14: Boston Americans vs. Chicago White Sox

A disastrous outing by Johnny Lush doomed Boston's chances to pick up a win. On the day, the Chicago White Sox (7-7) cruised to a 9 to 4 win over the visiting Boston Americans (8-6).

White Sox starter Fred Glade (2-2) picked up the win for his complete game work in which he permitted 4 runs (3 earned) on 12 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3 in his 149-pitch effort; Game Score 51. Boston starter Johnny Lush (2-2) was roughed up for 8 earned runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in his 3 2/3 innings of play; Game Score 13. Sam Leever was called in to work the final 4 1/3 innings and did a decent job in that he allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits and 1 walk.

Chicago's offense was fairly balanced, led by Lew Ritter (2 for 3, Double, 2 Runs, 3 RBIs, Stolen Base), Danny Hoffman (2 for 3, 2 Runs, Walk, 2 Stolen Bases), and Bill Clancy (1 for 4, Double, 2 RBIs). For the visiting team, Bill Lange (2 for 4, 2 Triples, Run, Walk) and Frank Chance (2 for 5, Double, Triple, 2 Runs, RBI) played well despite the loss.
