Got it! In case this happens to anyone and he or she happens to see this, to keep the AI from making roster / lineup changes before a game starts, try this:
1) click on your team, which is to the right of the league at the top center.
2) click on “Team Home Page.”
3) click on settings (top banner of team home page).
4) click the box that prohibits AI interference; it says something like “prevent AI from making lineup changes.”
