I like it. No downside at all. They pay him $1mil this year to rehab and work with the Detroit pitching staff. If he is worth keeping by year's end, they have a team option for 2026 at $4mil. If not, cut him loose.
Best case scenario is that he provides some depth help in late August / September and is a decent addition for 2026. Worst case scenario is they are out the $1mil
