Arrow Game 32: San Francisco Giants vs. Boston Red Sox

The team is heading the wrong direction as they drop another game. This time, the San Francisco Giants (18-14) picked up the 5 to 1 victory over the Boston Red Sox (15-17).

Giants starter Kyle Harrison (2-2) tossed a fine game today, allowing just 1 earned run on 5 hits, 2 walks, and 1 wild pitch in 8 1/3 innings of play; Game Score 73. Camilo Doval (SV 5) picked up the save for his scoreless 2/3 innings of ball. Boston went with Kutter Crawford for the start and while he was tough to hit at times, he could not keep the Giants off the scoreboard. On the day, Crawford permitted 5 earned runs on 8 hits, 3 walks, and 1 hit batsman while striking out 10 in 6 1/3 innings of ball; Game Score 44. Kenley Jansen pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless ball before turning the ball over to Justin Slaten to record the final out.

Leading the way at the plate for the Giants were Jorge Soler (2 for 4, Homerun, Run, 3 RBI, Walk), Matt Chapman (1 for 4, Homerun, Run, RBI), and Michael Conforto (1 for 4, Double, Walk). Boston's limited offense came from Jarren Duran (2 for 4, Double, RBI), Tommy Edman (1 for 3, Double), and Ceddanne Rafaela (1 for 3, Hit-by-Pitch).

Player of the Game: Kyle Harrison

AL East Standings: 5 1/2 GB, 4th Place
