Ah, if you had advanced in OOTP25, the same thing would have happened. Go to OOTP25 and turn off the auto-league-evolution toggle and then use the import game function on the OOTP26 main screen to being the save over and you will be fine.
Just have to manually add expansion teams going forward as you advance thru the game.
