Ramon Laureano hit a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 1st inning to give the Guardians the early lead. Hays singled home a run in the 3rd to make it 2-1.
Cleveland scored twice off of Anderson in the bottom of the 3rd, driving him from the game. Nick Mears relieved.
Velazquez broke out of a slump with a 1 out single in the 5th and Gonzalez followed with his 1st HR of the season. The 413 foot blast to CF made it 4-3.
Jose Soriano came in to pitch, relieving Mears to start the bottom of the 5th. It was another terrible outing for the right hander – he allowed 2 runs to score before retiring a batter (a Soriano throwing error didn't help).
The Angels tied it in the 6th. Trout reached base on an error and Schanuel followed with a double down the LF line. Trout was thrown out at the plate with Schanuel going to 3B on the play. Neto followed with a sac fly to make it 6-4. Later in the inning, Gonzalez delivered with a bases loaded single through the middle to tie the game.
The Guardians retook the lead on Brayan Rocchio’s RBI off of Adam Kolarek in the bottom of the inning. Cleveland added 3 big insurance runs in the 8th. The Angles loaded the bases in the 9th but could not score.
Final Score: Cleveland 10, Los Angeles 6
WP: S. Barlow (2-0)
LP: A. Kolarek (0-1)
SV: J. Karinchak (8)
Record: 11-23
