A solid victory for the home team, as the Boston Red Sox (18-20) topped the visiting Washington Nationals (12-25) by a 10 to 3 score. Picking up the win, which makes for an active 3-game win streak, moves the Red Sox into 3rd place in the American League standings.

This was decent outing from Red Sox starter Garrett Whitlock (2-3) who limited the damage to 3 earned runs on 5 hits, 3 walks, and 1 wild pitch in 7 1/3 innings of work; Game Score 59. Greg Weissert covered the final 1 2/3 innings in a scoreless, hitless effort.
