(Kings lost their streaks in Minnesota last night, allowing 2 PPG after scoring one of their own. Kuzmenko was on the ice for the goal, but still has not registered a point. [Kempe goal, assisted by Fiala and Doughty.] I am getting a little nervous and will be more so if we lose more games, but I'm holding off on the Anson Carter comparisons…for now.
The telecast did note that the back-to-back shutouts Darcy Kuemper recorded against WAS and NAS were the first time a King has done that since 2018. The goalie then?
Darcy Kuemper, in his first half-season in LA before we cashed him in for…um, Scott Wedgewood and Tobias Rieder. [Eek.] Of course back then, Kuemper was backing up Jonathan Quick and there was no sense in letting him linger on the bench when we had young talent such as Jack Campbell and Cal Peterson to develop…)
