It's just that after so many years, I have grown tired of the cycle. It has, for one reason or another, cost me my leagues in the process but that's not it.
Let's see if I can put my finger on it. I LIKE OOTP 25. It fulfills my needs for professional baseball simulation and I enjoy it a lot.
I have OOTP 25 customized the way that I want it (an unbelievable amount of contortions went into it) and it is almost fully debugged. The two minor cosmetic issues that I brought to their attention, twice, remain but I will live with them.
(This does not include the headline bleed in the league newspaper which has been a problem for years now, despite multiple complaints from users, but I don't use it.)
I just took a peek over at the OOTP 26 Tech Support thread. The usual stuff that will take months and many patches to resolve. I just don't want to go through the process anymore.
So, why am I saying all this? For probably the same reason that the OP had in making this thread. Not for justification or moral support from others, but to get it out there in writing for myself, to clarify my decision.
OOTP 25 is it for me. I don't fear for OOTPD in the least, however. They have plenty of ongoing customers and new ones flocking in all the time. I wish them well.
