Let's recall that while Jordany had his "it's called 'protective equipment' for a reason, kids" moment in orange and blue, the Mets did also employ Josias Manzanillo, who ended up a bit less of a Manzanillo when he was pitching for the Mariners and didn't bring his "armor" to pitch to Manny Ramirez, who lined one right where Josias would rather have not. Allegedly, the reconstructive surgery went well enough, but I'm not hunting up pics to check out the results.
And of course he's actually Nick "draft Grienke? Fielder? Scott Kazmir? You must be mad! Moneyball RULEZ!" Swisher, but the post was long enough.
I wonder if I'll see the game tomorrow. I don't see DirecTV advertising a free week of Extra Innings to start the year, and I have in fact definitively cancelled the damn thing for good this time. And I don't see the upcoming games on any national schedule. Hmm.
