So true. And mine is just an attempted quick fix, hence the many one-year contracts. A truly responsible owner would pour money into scouting (particularly international) and player development.

Rather than all the talk of a salary cap, I would prefer to see a floor. Teams that go under $100,000,000 a year can pay the difference to the pension fund.
