World Series Game #3 – October 16 – Seattle 6, Pittsburgh 4
The series shifted to Seattle's Safeco Field where Garrett Wright (3-4, 3.84 in 12 starts after being acquired from Colorado, where he was 3-7, 5.61) faced David Magdaleno. The Mariners took it to Magdaleno, sending 8 men to the plate and scoring 4 times in the 1st inning. After the Mariners collected 2 more hours in the 2nd, the Pirates summoned Josue Panacual from the bullpen.
The Pirates finally got in the board in the 5th when Owen Paino led off with a double and scored on Dan Syquia's single. After Jimmy Stone flew out to right, Ezequiel Tovar singled and Alejandro Olano follows with a 2 run double to the wall in CF to make it a 4-3 game. Pittsburgh tied it in the 6th when Alvaro Amezola singled, stole 2B, went to 3B on Shohei Ohtani’s ground out, and scored on Paino's sacrifice fly.
The Mariners United it in Yohendrick Pinango’s RBI double in the bottom of the inning. Alexis Rocha’s RBI double in the bottom of the 8th made it 6-4.
