Montreal turned a good effort from starter
Sam Griffin into a win over the
Toronto Blue Jays at Skydome. He worked 6 innings of 2-run ball and got the win. The final score was 3-2. The win puts
Montreal at 30-45.
Montreal used the hitting of
Mitku Kazemd to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the
Expos on top, 2-0. For the game,
Kazemd had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
In postgame comments to the Montreal Daily News,
Kazemd said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come." He is batting . 231-6-21 .617OPS -0.1WAR in 60 games.

Blue Jays Walk It Off for 32nd Win of Season
The
Toronto Blue Jays downed the
Montreal Expos, 5-3, at Skydome.
Oscar Vargas led the way, going 2-for-3 for
Toronto.
Toronto pitcher
Allen Spahn got the win, upping his record to 4-1.
Kevin Cowden got the loss. Today's win puts
Toronto at 32-43, while
Montreal falls to 30-46.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With
Toronto trailing 3-1,
Vargas jumped on a fastball from fireballing right-hander
Kevin Cowden and hit a grand slam home run to right-center. With one swing, the
Blue Jays had a walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," said
Vargas. The 2019 World Series winner is batting .241-5-28 .633OPS 0.2WAR in 56 games.
