Expos Lose at Home, 8-4

The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Montreal Expos by a score of 8-4. Toronto right fielder Ricardo Orta deserved the lion's share of the credit. Orta was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Blue Jays. Paul Davis, the winner, improved to 1-6. He held Montreal to 1 run on 2 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The Blue Jays raised their record to 38-56.

Toronto Gets 9-4 Win

Jays Sweep Canada Series with 7-5 Win

The Toronto Blue Jays withstood a fine game by Montreal first baseman Dave Grochowski at Olympic Stadium, to upend the Expos, 7-5. Grochowski hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The 4th-place Blue Jays have won 4 straight games.

Toronto used the hitting of Mike Massie to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 7-5. For the game, Massie had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
