Arrow Game 66: Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox

A great match-up of two outstanding pitchers in Houck and Crochet ended with a nail biting 9th inning. On the day, the Boston Red Sox (36-30) prevailed over the Chicago White Sox (30-37) by a 3 to 1 score.

Tanner Houck (8-3) picked up the win by limiting the home team to two (2) harmless singles while striking out 9 in 8 innings of play; Game Score 87. Liam Hendriks (SV 10) picked up the save but did give up 1 earned run on 2 hits. Of Note, Houck was recognized as MLB's #1 Performance of the Day. On offense, the Red Sox were led by Tyler O'Neill (2 for 3, Homerun, Run, 2 RBI, Walk) and Tommy Edman (1 for 3, RBI).

Chicago starter Garrett Crochet (6-6) was burdened with the loss despite allowing just 1 earned run on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 10 in 7 innings of work; Game Score 72. John Brebbia was ineffective in his efforts, as he allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits in 2 innings of relief work. Offense came from Luis Robert Jr. (1 for 4, Double, Run) and Eloy Jimenez (1 for 3, RBI).

Player of the Game: Tanner Houck (Season: #5)

AL East Standings: 2 1/2 GB, 2nd Place
