I know I said I was getting back to the Southern League, but I veered a bit off course and tackled the other new minor league park for 2025.
The Ballpark at America First Square, home of the Salt Lake Bees
After 30 years playing at Smith's Field in Salt Lake City, the Bees moved to the suburbs for 2025 to a new park in Daybreak, a planned community in South Jordan. The park is intended to be the centerpiece of a major development similar to The Battery near Truist Park outside of Atlanta. As of now there isn't much of the development built, the model incorporates some roughed-in buildings in right field based on the renderings that were released even though they don't necessarily exist in real life yet.
One notable point of interest is the perforated metal wraparound facade which raps around from each of the party decks around the outside of the park.
At a reported capacity of 8,000 it is the fourth-smallest park in AAA. Early reports are that the park is very nice, but expensive for minor league baseball - the cheapest seats (general admission on the outfield berm) are $18.
