Expos Bring Home 6-5 Win Despite Bullpen Woes
The
Montreal Expos picked up a win at LoanDepot Park, knocking off the
Miami Marlins, 6-5. On the mound for
Montreal was right-hander
Austin Roy. He played a key role in the triumph.
Roy, now 9-10, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs.
Adam Rudolph converted his 13th save in 14 tries.
Huai-yu Mah went 1 for 2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for
Montreal. The 27-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off
Gerry Smith. It was his 31st RBI of the season.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said
Expos manager Aaron McCreery.

Expos Trip Marlins in Extra Innings
The
Montreal Expos and
Miami Marlins completed their game despite the rain.
The
Montreal Expos defeated the
Miami Marlins, 5-4, in 10 innings in Eastern League action at LoanDepot Park.
Montreal pitcher
Dan Hinton had a standout performance.
Montreal reliever
Freddy Silva picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1.
Brian Umbaugh was tagged with the loss.
Montreal used the timely hitting of
Huai-yu Mah to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the
Expos on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Aaron McCreery, the
Montreal manager.
The
Marlins, at 54-74, have lost 5 straight games.

Marlins Stop Skid, Win 7-1 at Home
Eibe Hoekstra pitched a gem to lead
Miami to victory over the
Montreal Expos, 7-1.
Miami is last in the Eastern League South East Division with a record of 55-74.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing,"
Hoekstra said.
The Marlins got a big at-bat from catcher
Chris Malloy. For the game,
Malloy went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 13th home run of the season gave
Miami a 4-0 lead. The 24-year old is batting .214-13-44 .625OPS 0.8WAR in 98 games in his rookie season.
