With a 5-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Chicago Cubs have clinched the top spot in the National League Central Division.
With a 91-59 record, the Cubs own a 13-game lead over the Cincinnati Reds with 12 games left in the season.
Chicago trails the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves by 3.5 games for the best record in the National League.
