So why was Miz so angry on Friday night's
SmackDown??
Sure, you could believe Mike when he says he's pissed off because he was left of the card for the previous weekend's WrestleMania, the first time since his rookie year of 2007 when he was available to work and didn't appear.
(Exceptions for 2014, when Miz was filming a movie, 2020 when he was ill [not sure if it was COVID or if they were just paranoid about anyone with the sniffles that year], and 2023, when he was relegated to "host" duty and had to get beat up by Pat McAfee and Snoop Dogg, but at least he was there.)
So yes, Miz has
never liked being disrespected…but could there be something else happening?
Well, anybody who's seen Miz away from the ring knows he's from Cleveland and if they've seen him on
The Rich Eisen Show (where he's a frequent guest) they know that he's a devoted Cleveland Browns fan, always trying to see the bright side, which you have to do if rooting for the Browns isn't going to kill you.
(Last season, Miz came on Eisen's show when the Browns had just switched from Groper Cleveland to Jameis Winston and moved to 1-6, and Miz went through the Browns' remaining schedule, predicting a Cleveland victory in every game and giving "reasoning" for it when Rich was skeptical. Hilarious.)
So on Thursday, Miz was on a plane from LA (having spent the week since last Friday at home) to DFW because
SmackDown was in Fort Worth. And he was all hyped about the Browns having the #2 pick in the draft, to the point where he was announcing to the plane that the Browns were about to draft the "best athlete in the draft!"
(A bit over the top, but Mike is an entertainer, after all.)
And then…Mizanin learned that Cleveland had traded that pick (and thus Travis Hunter) to AEW, er, the Jaguars. Leading to…this:
The complete Cleveland Browns fan experience, in one picture, lol.
(Photo courtesy of Angelo Dawkins, who was on the same plane because the Street Profits weren't on WrestleMania, either. Dawkins happens to be a Bengals fan, so he was enjoying Mike's Browns-induced Miz-ery.)
Eisen shared the photo in part because his guest was Seth Rollins (from Davenport IA, so a Bears fan). Since Rollins is currently working on
Monday Night RAW,
his Fridays are free, so Seth got to go to Green Bay for the NFL Draft, where he announced Chicago's 2nd Round pick. (Ozzy Prabilo, OL, Boston College)
