MLB news: Sept. 28 -- Twins will be part of AL postseason
With a 9-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, the Minnesota Twins clinched a berth in the American League playoffs.
At 87-73, the Twins and Cleveland Indians are tied for first place in the American League Central Division with two games left in the regular season.
The team which finishes second will likely be the No. 2 wild card as Boston owns a substantial lead in those standings.
Minnesota last made the postseason in 2023 but have made it three of the past four years.
The Twins last World Series appearance came back in 1991, when they defeated the Atlanta Braves.
