MLB news: Sept. 29 -- Mariners sew up AL West crown
With an 8-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Seattle Mariners have clinched the championship of the American League West Division.
The Mariners (88-73) lead the Texas Rangers by two games with just the final day of the regular season remaining.
Texas may need to win its regular-season finale against the Cleveland Indians to earn a wild-card berth.
The Rangers lead Baltimore by a game in the wild-card standings.
