MLB news: Sept. 30 -- Rangers will be an American League wild card
Despite a 2-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians, the Texas Rangers will be part of the American League postseason as a wild card.
Texas (86-76) finished in second place in the American League West Division, three games behind the Seattle Mariners.
The Rangers will face the Mariners in an AL wild-card series.
Texas last reached the postseason in 2023, when it defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in the World Series.
