CBA Finals Set
The Commonwealth Basketball Association's 2314-2315 season is down to two teams for the rights to claim the second-ever title in CBA history. And they are a familiar two teams since these teams met last year in the finals: Salem vs Airport.
The Shadows got here by overcoming an 0-2 series deficit versus Medford to take the series 4-2. Salem fell in the first two games to the NCC champion Irish, 122-108 and 120-109. Upon returning home, the Shadows won both, 133-124 and 122-106. They then won at the Irish, 125-117. In Game 6, Salem took the series, 106-89.
For Airport, the defending champions, they took on a formidable Boston Bugles team. However, Boston was no match in a 4-1 series win for the Aviators. Airport won their first two games at home, 127-119 and 140-119. They then dropped Game 3, 126-105. The Aviators then found their winning ways again, winning Game 4 at Boston, 121-112, and then Game 5 at Airport, 111-108.
The Finals are expected to be a blowout, with Airport expected to run away with their second title. Airport's DA Forte is an imposing force, and someone that the Shadows will not be able to contain him. Salem has JB Letterhead and Licker Sam Arnold as their two stars, while the Aviators rely on Brick Watson to dish the ball to Forte. Airport 4, Salem 1
NEBA Finals
The NEBA has already begun its finals between the Concord Colonels and the Nuka World Wheelz. The Colonels, the third seed in the North-Downtown Region, knocked off the North Division champions, the Portsmouth Hoops and then defeated the fourth-seeded Portland Irish, which had knocked off #1 seed Jamaica Plain. For the Wheelz, the team that finished the regular season with the best record of 55-7, they defeated the fourth-seed Spartans of Brockton and then the #2 seed Plymouth Sea Dogs, which had defeated the #3 Sandwich Royals.
Last season, the Wheelz defeated Jamaica Plain to win the championship, 2 games to 0.
