This was a rough-go for both starting pitchers, with both seeing their stats taking an adverse hit. Through some late run support, the Boston Red Sox (40-33) moved to a season-high 7 games over .500 mark with a 13 to 6 victory over the home team Toronto Blue Jays (34-39).

Toronto starter Jose Berrios did not record a decision after he allowed 5 earned runs on 6 hits and a hit batsman; Game Score 37. Erik Swanson (2-2) was tagged with the loss after he served up 4 earned runs on 3 hits and 1 walk in 2 innings of play before Trevor Richards was called upon, but who failed to stop the damage in serving up 4 earned runs on 3 hits, 2 walks, and a wild pitch. Alek Manoah pitched a scoreless 2/3 innings. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (3 for 4, 2 Homeruns, 2 Runs, 5 RBI, Walk), Isiah Kiner-Falefa (2 for 3, 2 Runs, Sacrifice Bunt), Dalton Varsho (3 for 5, Run), and Justin Turner (3 for 5) hit the ball well.
