Cards news: Oct. 3 -- LHP McClanahan acquired from Rays for minor-league pitcher
The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired left-handed relief pitcher Shane McClanahan from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for right-handed minor-league reliever Chen-Wen Lin.
McClanahan, 28, pitched in 29 games this season going 4-3 with 18 saves and a 2.97 ERA.
For his career, the former 2018 first-round draft pick, has gone 37-19 with the 18 saves -- he has 74 starts in 103 career games -- and a 3.02 ERA.
Signed as a free agent in 2023, Lin went 6-8 with a 4.79 ERA this season in 25 starts this season at Class A Palm Beach.
