Cards news: Nov. 10 -- Brendan Donovan (2B) and Nolan Gorman (3B) both earn Silver Sluggers
The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that second baseman Brendan Donovan and third baseman Nolan Gorman have both been awarded National League Silver Sluggers for being the best hitters at their respective positions.
It marks the first time either has received the honor.
Donovan, 28, batted .272 with 13 home runs and 64 RBIs in 142 games/133 starts.
He also saw time at first base and in left field.
Getting his first chance to be a full-time starter, Gorman took advantage as the 25-year-old batted .257 with 33 home runs and 44 RBIs in 147 games/144 starts.
