And now we reached the worst record in baseball. With Devin Mesoraco slowing down and Eric Thames following suit, there is simply not enough offense in this roster. Nuff said. There is little MLB ready talent in AAA to help us, the only one is Rendon… and that’s off the table. Now, some good news, Marcus Stroman made some progress lately and improved his control and Arodys Vizcaino added some zip to his fastball. Little improvement, but improvement.

Looking around the AL, there is no reason to look further than Detroit in the AL Central. Miguel Cabrera is hitting bombs (See PotM), and then there is Prince Fielder(28, 4*, .324-13-50 1.020OPS 2.7WAR) and obviously DH/C Victor Martinez(33, 4.5*, .328-4-25 .822OPS 1.1WAR) and ace SP Justin Verlander(29, 4*, 4-7 3.90 87K 2.0WAR 16GS)… dangerous.

Now, talking about a team with a potential bright future… ask around in Miami. Not only is RF Giancarlo Stanton(22, 4*, .276-24-60 .982OPS 3.6WAR) looking like he is ready for the next step, the #1 prospect in baseball CF Christian Yelich(20, 1.5/5*), the #7 prospect in baseball in RHSP Jose Fernandez(19, 2/5*) and the #13 prospect LF Marcell Ozuna(21, 1.5/4*) is also close… they could become a force with a little help.

In AAA, Archer(6.25) and Giolito(5.31) are struggling and Snell(6-5 4.00) is just hanging on, but our hopes are still high that Anthony Rendon can make the final step with a bit more time and will be our best player come spring 2013, and the same goes for Syndergaard(2.98) on the pitching side. Castellanos(.307-7-40.898OPS 1.6WAR) heating up in AA is a nice sign… but it’s the waiting game we have to play.
