SUPER SEASON FOR LAGRANGE'S SWINNERTON -- 4TH RU GOLDEN BAT
Tory Swinnerton has been around Islandian Pro Alliance 16 seasons -- long enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2088 season, he's taking home the Golden Bat Award in the Ruthlandian Union. This is the 4th time for the 36-year-old slugger and the amazing 13th time Swinnerton had led the Ruthlandian Union in roundtrippers and it was his 4th time to top the league in RBIs. This year's RU Golden Bat recipient has made the All-Star team on 9 occasions. Swinnerton paced his Gators to the RU North Division title.
The LaGrange first baseman put up a batting average of .298 in 148 games with 24 doubles, 4 triples, 56 home runs and 134 RBIs.
First baseman Lee Drummond (152 games/.327 BA/48 HR/121 RBI/113 R) of the Rocky Rapids Snappers finished second in voting, while center fielder Ben Atcheson (149 games/.340 BA/34 HR/111 RBI/98 R) of the Stoner Silver Sox finished third.
