We had some solid games, but also some horrible games this month. Yet, we are not as horrible as we could have been, but there are still some concerns. First,
Carlos Carrasco is a train wreck and was recently rated dow not a 2.5* starter from 3*, which still means we probably keep him around given our limited ability to add players… but we had hope for more. Second…
Scott Sizemore is getting on my nerves with his .191 batting average… my god.
All that prompted us to reorder our lineup with
Snider,
Danks,
Cooper,
Thames and
Mesoraco top 5 against RHP and
Danks,
Escobar,
Mesoraco,
Thames and
Snider against LHP… by the way,
Ben Francisco sucks as right-handed DH… Help from AAA? I’m tempted by nobody there and our scouts agree unfortunately.
Well, around the league… what a trade deadline frenzy (see below) and we could not take part. Still, I think our minor league system is amazing. And we are rank one by a wide margin. Trust me, this team will win a AL East pennant in the next 10 years… maybe.
Oh and congratulations to a lefty nobody cares about. He is our All-Star representative.

So, one thing right away, LF
Nick Castellanos was promoted to AAA as for today. He is ready for the next step and can start building a relationship with his fellow new teammates
Anthony Rendon,
Chris Archer(5-7 5.49) and
Noah Syndergaard(6-6 3.63), the three closest to winning a job next spring.
As for our draft haul, we signed the whole bunch of them and for some reason, our first rounder SS
Jim Hatfield is the #5 prospect in baseball… which is surprising. Why did he fall to #17? What is wrong with him?
Anyways, he might move up another spot soon as
Boston promoted top prospect
Mookie Betts(19, 2/5*) to the majors…

Two more of those. Unfortunately, some of the other kids were ranked down to 2.5*, so our haul is down to these two and defensive ace
Rafael Hernandez and OF
Luis Garza when it comes to 3* or above prospects. We will see how this developes, so far they are depth.
