2022 November 28th: Free Agency Starts!

Nov. 28th
Today marks the beginning of New Major League Baseball's free agent filing period. With it comes the uncertainty of an offseason filled with the potential for blockbuster signings, off-the-wall trades and a mad scramble to improve your club before you get left out in the cold.

General managers have the entire offseason in which to sign free agents. The biggest names on this year's market include:

Starting Pitchers:
LHSP Joel Gaspar(36, 3*) ex-NY 5-5 4.19 112K 23GS 2.5WAR – 4x All-Star, 3x Gold Glover – 1y/$12.8M wrecked body
RHSP Hector Mata(29, 3*) ex-SAC 14-7 3.10 162K 34GS 3.6WAR – 2x All-Star, 2020 WL PotY – 5y/$63.6M
RHSP Hagane Noguchi(37, 3*) ex-CHI 3-5 5.17 77K 16GS 1.0WAR – 6x All-Star, 2018 WL PotY – 3y/$30M fragile

Position Players:
1B Sal Masariegos(30, 4*) ex-JAC .272/.324/.414 10HR 54RBIs 95G 0.3WAR – 1x All-Star – 8y/$128M wrecked body
1B Ruben Garcia(32, 3*) ex-JAC .228/.283/.454 24HR 62RBIs 99G -0.2WAR – 1x All-Star, 1x Silver Slugger, 2015 WL RotY – 2y/$18M
That’s it.

Now, to get things done, onto the 40-man go:
RHRP Robert Estrada(23, 2.5/3*, 2-3 25SV 3.19 58K 48IP 1.3WAR AA)
2B Fernando Perez(22, 2.5/3*, .230-18-54 .718OPS 4.0WAR 111G AA)
UT James Slowik(25, 2.5*, .246-2-19 .618OPS 0.5WAR A/AA)
LF Roberto Pedraza(25, 2.5*, .231-7-40 .632OPS 0.1WAR AAA)

And now into the free agent… snoozefest. It will be a boring offseason I feel.
