A rough night for our Rockies. Freeland left after four innings and 68 pitches, giving up eight hits and six runs with one strikeout, no walks, and we were outhit 11-4 ... only Jordan Beck (two hits) and Sean Bouchard (a hit, a walk and a run scored) showed any offensive life. Jefry Yan, in his first game up from the minors, did have two solid innings following Freeland, walking one and striking out four with no runs against him.

W: Antonio Senzatela (2-6) L: Patrick Corbin (2-3)
POY: Antonio Senzatela
If you’d just watched today’s game you’d have no idea why we’ve only won eight games all year. We dominated from the jump, and Senzatela had a quality start, allowing just four hits, a walk and two earned runs, striking out three. We outhit them 8-5 but were still sloppy on defense, with a pair of errors. Hunter Goodman had two hits, a walk and scored a run, while seven players in our lineups hit, everyone getting on base at least once except for Adael Amador. Tyler Kinley pitched two innings with a strikeout, no baserunners, improving his ERA to 6.87 after a very rough start to his season.
May 16, 2025: Prior to the start of today’s game against the Diamondbacks on the road, we officially got word that a pair of starting pitchers have signed with us on minor league contracts. The first was 30-year-old Connor Johnstone, a two-star groundballer who has never made a major league start, while the second was 32-year-old Noah “Thor” Syndergaard, a neutral pitcher who hasn’t played in the majors since 2023. They both may find their way up to the majors shortly to give our beleagured pitching staff some room to breathe, but for now both will stay with the Isotopes in Albuquerque.
In other news, we’ve found our new manager. David Ross, who hasn’t managed a game since being let go by the Cubs after finishing 83-79 in 2023, has signed a two year deal with us at $750,000 per season, and the 49-year-old is going to have his work cut out for him.
