Game 82: San Diego Padres vs. Boston Red Sox
Overall, this game was not as close as the final score would indicate. Up 9 to 2 heading into the 7th inning, things got a little shaky before the bullpen could clean things up. On the day, the Boston Red Sox (45-37) prevailed over the visiting San Diego Padres (45-41) by a score of 10 to 6.
Kutter Crawford (6-6) got the nod for the Red Sox and while he was roughed up for 6 earned runs on 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7 in 6 2/3 innings of work, he did notch the victory; Game Score 42. Kenley Jansen worked 1 1/3 innings in which he permitted 2 hits, 2 walks, and 1 wild pitch before turning the ball over to Liam Hendriks who pitched a scoreless final inning. Yu Darvish (5-8) was tagged with the loss after serving up 7 earned runs on 8 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4 in 3 1/3 innings of play; Game Score 17.
