April 24-26, 2034: at Baltimore (3)
Transaction: Left this out of the previous post but starting SS Isaac Cedillos went on the IL with a fractured finger and will be out until mid-May. 1B Ruben Solis was recalled from Durham - the Cuban defector was signed to a minor league deal in the winter of 2030-31 and was hitting 436/476/795 for the Bulls. He has 45 contact and 60 power. Carson Williams takes over as the everyday SS.
Game 1: 6-2 W. WP-Najera (3-2, 6 6 1 1 3 5). Najera was in good form and the 32-year-old rookie Solis had a huge game, going 3-5 with a double and 4 RBI and usually driving in Gurrola, who batted ahead of him and was 2-3 with 2 walks, 2 steals and 2 runs scored along with a ribbie.
Game 2: 2-13 L. LP-Fragoso (2-1, 2.2 6 5 5 4 1). Fragoso and the bullpen were obliterated by the Orioles. Solis was the one bright spot with 3 more hits including a double.
Game 3: 2-3 L. LP-Ogando (0-1). Starter-Lennon (6 3 1 1 2 5). HR-C.Williams (2). A heartbreaking loss for the Rays as they took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 8th only for the normally-reliable Ogando to give up 2 runs on 3 hits without retiring anyone.
Team record: 13-10, still 1 1/2 behind Toronto. Next up: A day off to return home where we'll play 3 against the Yankees.
