And somehow, we have ran a 10-game hitting streak into second place in the division and a 11-6 record. That one can not be sustainable, purely because our defensive metrics are absurd and our pitching is not remotely good enough to put up those kind of numbers. Yet, praise to all of them, I didn’t expect that much early excitement this season.
Speaking of excitement that didn’t work out,
Anthony Rendon has been the worst player on our roster in April with -0.6WAR as he has hit a big, fat nuthin’ since coming up. He is here and will stay here as his defense is still better than
Sizemore and there is no reason to sent him down for some AAA dude that will hit the same.
Looking around the AL, the
Houston Astros turned their move to the AL into a surprise month as they lead the West with
Nick Swisher(32, 3.5*, .302-4-22 .996OPS 1.0WAR) showing off his skills for them, and so does new leadoff hitter
Dustin Pedroia(29, 3*, .284-3-7 .786OPS 0.2WAR). Surprisingly enough, they called up the first overall pick of the 2022 draft in 1B
Bill Fowlkes(23, 2.5/4.5*, 1-3), but using him as a pinch-hitter… I got questions.

Our absurdly stacked AAA team is 11-9 so far and with
Eugenio Suárez hitting .352,
Jim Hatfield hitting .302-2-9, and
Noah Syndergaard being 1-0 1.75 27K in 4 starts. Fun times. Not much movement on the development side tho, but it is early.
Bad news, the injury bug has hit us as well as AA RHCL
Chris Devenski(22, 1.5/3*) is out for the year with elbow ligament reconstruction surgery and our international steal R SP
Javier Guzman(16, 1/3*) with a ruptured bicep tendon. Bad luck.
