Yea, this one puzzles me. They crafted a game to have SO many options for modifying practically every aspect. No one yet likely has likely even utilized much less exhausted modification potentials this game offers. And yet... they did nothing to cultivate that, really. The chronic issues - even down to stat management and display - remained ridiculoulsy chronic (the UI for example). Why not open up some of these things at least? My guess is that with such a small development team it takes on a "this is my baby" aura. Iow, it remained in developer vs business mode. No developer will welcome others to mess with his creation.
