Arrow Game 90: Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees

A good battle between two historic franchises. Despite a late-inning push by the home team, the Boston Red Sox (50-40) fended off the New York Yankees (49-43) by a 6 to 2 score.

Boston starter Jack Flaherty (9-6) went the distance, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 10 in the 120-pitch complete game; Game Score 75. At the plate, Kyle Teel (2 for 4, Homerun, 2 Runs, 3 RBI), Pablo Reyes (2 for 4, Run, RBI), and Rafael Devers (1 for 5, Homerun, Run, RBI) had a solid day in the win.

Despite having a respectable outing, Nestor Cortes (8-9) was saddled with the loss after permitting 3 earned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 11 in 8 innings of work; Game Score 69. Reliever Chase Hampton was tagged for 3 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits and 1 walk in 1/3 innings of play. JT Brubaker wrapped things up with a scoreless 2/3 innings. The Yankees offense was limited to Trent Grisham (3 for 4, Double, Homerun, Run, RBI) and Juan Soto (1 for 4, Homerun, Run, RBI).
