Want so hear something funny? We went 13-15 and gained four games on first place. And I still don’t think we are a good team. But, we are improving bit by bit and the next wave of players is due next spring.
I am very happy with the first month of
Adam Brzezinski and a month of
Adeiny Hechavarria at second as that helped out offense a little bit. The bullpen however is still a big concern as
Alburquerque,
Lujan and
Duffey are struggling and
Cramer is 33 and most likely won’t carry the left side forever.
Now, about players that won’t be around forever, the
New York Yankees have a ton of them, and are 53-73.
Derek Jeter(.261-2-30 .625OPS -1.0WAR) is in what may just be his final year, 3B
Alex Rodriguez(38, 3*, .273-12-38 .810OPS 1.4WAR) is on the IL with a rotator cuff strain, reigning Cy Young Winner
CC Sabathia(33, 3*, 5-2 2.96 50K 1.4WAR 9G) is out for the year with elbow surgery, 1B
Mark Teixeira(33, 2.5*, .214-18-58 .691OPS 0.0WAR) is a shadow of his former self… and they have five guys batting below .220 in the lineup.
Another fun stat. The
Colorado Rockies have 68 wins and therefore, have already matched the win total of 2012. Adding 1B
James Loney(29,3 2.5*, .328-8-59 .819OPS 1.2WAR) as a table setter for SS
Troy Tulowitzki(28, 4.5/5*, .289-13-34 .924OPS 2.1WAR) and RF
Carlos Gonzalez(27, 4*, .287-22-76 .835OPS 1.8WAR) has helped, but the big thing for them is… they found five AAAA pitchers that have their ERA hover around 3.50 and 4.50.

Won Awards this month
Good news, we got some good performances in the minors last month and in general. Our AAA team is 78-57 and lead their division by 3.5 games. The clue about
Noah Syndergaard is, he was PotM, he is 14-4, but only with an ERA of 4.09, and the scouting report still says… needs more time.
Our AA team is not much to write home about, but our single A teams are 69-52 and 70-62 with RHCL
Roberto Osuna(18, 2/4*, 65-2 9SV 1.26 81K 2.3WAR) and RHCL
Joe Szczygiel(see above) being the future of our pen, and our international free agent RHSP
Victor Torres(17, 1.5/5*, 10-7 2.19 146K 4.0WAR) is performing nicely.
What we are waiting for… is some breakthroughs in player development.

We didn’t find anyone interesting this month, but one thing has to be said. The not so interesting players that we grabbed may develop into a brutal generation of 2.5* AAAA players that we can pick and choose from … and one development bump, and we may find a star in them.
