Cards news: July 19 -- OF Lawrence Butler and SP Andre Pallante are All-Stars

A pair of St. Louis Cardinals, outfielder Lawrence Butler and starting pitcher Andre Pallante, have been named to the National League roster for the All-Star game.
It is Butler's second All-Star game nod, as he made the American League team last season while with Oakland.
Butler, 26, tops the NL with his 74 RBIs while his 24 home runs are fourth.
In 89 game/88 starts, Butler is batting .296 (fifth) while getting on base at a .377 clip (third) and he is third in slugging percentage at .564.
This will be the first All-Star game for the 27-year-old Pallante.
In 19 starts this season, he has gone 7-6 with a 3.62 ERA.
The right-hander has pitched 107.0, during which he has posted 1.27 WHIP and struck out 85.
