Expos Win 10-3, Lose Hinton
The home crowd had a good time watching the
Toronto Blue Jays and
Montreal Expos get after it.
The
Montreal Expos powered past the
Toronto Blue Jays, 10-3, at Olympic Stadium.
Matt Talbert provided some of the pop. He was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
Toronto, with the loss, is 14-17.
Early in the game, designated hitter
Joe Hawk had a grand slam home run for
Montreal. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the
Expos on top, 4-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said
Hawk after the game. However, the took a hard hit in the 2nd inning when starting pitcher
Dan Hinton left the game with serious discomfort in his right arm. The diagnosis came swift and was devastating. He has suffered a
partially torn labrum and will be out for
4 months.

Blue Jays Win in Ten
The
Toronto Blue Jays did just enough to secure a victory over the

Mario Lopez. The winner in relief was

Montreal sinks to 20-13.
Toronto needed the clutch hitting of
Ricardo Orta to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the
Blue Jays on top, 7-6. For the game,
Orta had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We took home the win," said
Orta. "What's not to like?" The 2x Silver Slugger is batting .295-7-17 .941OPS 0.8WAR in 30 games.
