Cincinnati pitcher Ramon Ruedas did his part in helping his team defeat the Montreal Expos, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Cincinnati goes to 28-21, Montreal to 29-19.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Eagles had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when first baseman Nicolá Gardini hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Brett Asselin and made the score 3-2, Eagles. Gardini was 1 for 4.

Roy Gets 6-3 Win over Eagles

Montreal and Cincinnati duked it out and the Expos came out victorious.

Montreal pitcher Austin Roy had a large part in his team beating the Cincinnati Eagles, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Getting the save was Kevin Cowden, his 4th.

The Expos got a big at-bat from right fielder Ian Messer. For the game, Messer was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Montreal a 2-0 lead.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Messer. He is batting .366-4-14 .942OPS 1.6WAR in 45 games.

A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Montreal Expos and Calgary Beavers.
