Arrow Game 96: Kansas City Royals vs. Boston Red Sox

The bats have gone cold and the losing streak is now up to 4 consecutive games as we head into the All-Star break. On the day, the Kansas City Royals (55-43) bested the Boston Red Sox (52-44) by a 2 to 1 score.

Starting pitcher Brady Singer (8-8) kept the opposition in check, as he allowed just 1 earned run on 3 hits, 3 walks, and 1 hit batsman while striking out 6 in 8 innings of work; Game Score 75. Daniel Lynch (SV 1) pitched a scoreless final inning to pick up the save. The Royals were led at the plate by Bobby Witt Jr. (2 for 5, Homerun, Run, 2 RBI), Dairon Blanco (2 for 4, Double), and Maikel Garcia (1 for 4, Double, Run, Walk).

The Red Sox turned to Tanner Houck (10-7) for the start and while he pitched well, it was not enough to see his team prevail as Houck permitted 2 earned runs on 9 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7 in 7 innings of work; Game Score 57. Nick Pivetta and Liam Hendriks each pitched a scoreless and hitless inning of work.

Player of the Game: Brady Singer
