The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Expos on top, 4-0. He is batting .321-10-36 1.3WAR in 53 games.

Said losing manager Raul Quiles: "Give the Expos credit. They played a better game than we did."

de Leon with #17 as Philadelphia Wins, 8-2

The performance of Fidel de Leon proved critical in helping Philadelphia beat Montreal, 8-2. The Grizzlies second baseman was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The 2016 EL MvP is batting .314-17-33 1.008OPS 2.4WAR in 54 games.

Philadelphia won the game in part because of Pablo Vargas. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 4-2. For the game, Vargas had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Pat Pierce said.
