As neither the Giants nor the Braves could finish off a sweep of the Rockies, the Pile are now at the dizzying heights of a .197 winning percentage, which comes to 32-130 for the full season. Still far below last season's White Sux, but quite clear of the 1899 Spiders at the moment.
If we go back to include that aberrational sweep of the Fish (and the following sweep of Colorado by the Mets), the Purple Mountains' Majesty has only been 5-7 since they were 9-50. If the Rox can keep rolling at their recent .417 pace, they would go 38-53 from hereon in, posting an overall 52-110 mark. Still wretched, but not historically so.
