AL Player of the Week

When it came to hitting the baseball, Eddie Robinson was in a class by himself in the AL this past week. Nobody did it better.

The outstanding first baseman for Detroit tagged opposing pitchers for a .444 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 3 homers, 4 runs scored and 4 RBIs.

At the moment, Robinson is batting .325 with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 47 games and scored 31 times.

NL Player of the Week

Cincinnati sports fans can't stop singing the praises of Whitey Kurowski, who has been selected the NL Player of the Week.

Kurowski was in a comfort zone all week, finishing with a .467 average (14-for-30), 10 RBIs and 2 home runs.

In 48 games this season, Kurowski is batting .360 with 64 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 26 runs and driven in 40.
