Cards news: Dec. 14 -- SP Pallante dealt to Angels for two prospects
The St. Louis Cardinals have traded right-handed starting pitcher Andre Pallante to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for minor-league outfielders Nelson Rada and Ezra Essex.
Pallante, 28, has had his chances in the majors with the Cardinals.
In stints which began in 2022, he has pitched in 172 games/64 starts during which he has gone 28-29 with a 4.22 ERA.
In 2026, he started 25 games in the majors and was 8-10 with a 4.16 ERA.
Rada, 21, was signed as a free agent out of Venezuela in 2022.
He split the 2026 season between Class A and High-A.
In 118 games/116 starts, he hit .267 with five home runs and 44 RBIs.
The 20-year-old Essex played in 47 games in Rookie Ball for the Angels last season.
He hit .205 with five home runs and 28 RBIs.
