Sole Survivor Series 2315: Lexington Synths vs Vault 81 Dwellers
Game Results: 1 and 2
Game 1: Lexington 9, Vault 81 4
Road Win Lifts Lexington to 1-0 Lead in SSS
The Lexington Synths started the Sole Survivor Series in style, winning on the road against the Vault 81 Dwellers at CURIE Inc. Field by a score of 9-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Synths first baseman World B. Free excelled. He went 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Free had a consequential at-bat in the top of the fourth for the Synths. Coming up with the bases loaded and Lexington trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Free told the Lexington Observer.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.
Game 2: Vault 81 9, Lexington 3
Raucous CURIE Inc. Field Crowd Propels Dwellers to 9-3 Victory; Series Tied at 1
The Vault 81 Dwellers defeated the Lexington Synths, 9-3, in Game 2 of the Sole Survivor Series. Making an impact was catcher Phantom Vargas, who went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win moves Vault 81 into a 1-1 tie with Lexington in the series.
Had Harry Byrd not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Byrd hit a grand slam home run. That made the score 7-3, in favor of the Dwellers.
Said Lexington manager Brandon Salinas: "They did a lot of things right. We did a lot of things wrong."
The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 27th , 2315 at Super Duper Mart Stadium in Lexington.
