Arrow Game 98: Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

A much needed win, as the Boston Red Sox (53-45) used some late-inning scoring to top the Los Angeles Dodgers (54-45) by a 5 to 3 score.

Red Sox starter Tanner Houck (11-7) pitched a solid game, as he permitted 3 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, 1 walk, and 2 hit batsman in 7 innings of play; Game Score 65. Garrett Whitlock (H 1) notched his 1st hold of the season with a scoreless inning of work before turning the ball over to closer Liam Hendriks (SV 18) who wrapped up the game by getting all 3 outs via strikeout. Leading the way at the plate were Vaughn Grissom (3 for 4, Homerun, Run, RBI), Jarren Duran (1 for 3, Run, RBI, Hit-by-Pitch, Stolen Base), and Ceddanne Rafaela (2 for 5, Double, RBI).

Taking the loss was starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto (7-9) who was tagged for 5 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits, 1 walk, and 1 hit batsman in 7 innings of work; Game Score 48. James Paxton covered the final 2 innings in a scoreless appearance. The Dodgers offense was generated by Gavin Lux (2 for 4, Double), Enrique Hernandez (2 for 3, RBI, Walk), and Jason Heyward (1 for 4, 2 RBI).
