The AL divisions finish up the same way they did in 2049 with the Royals and Rangers earning byes while the Yankees will face a WC series. The Wild Cards are Central dominated and set up two East-Central match ups, as the Twins (in their first post-season appearance since 2027) will face the Blue Jays, and the Guardians (in their first appearance since 2039) the Yankees. The Royals will face the winners of the Toronto-Minnesota series for a place in the ALCS.
Over in the National League, the Mets and the Cardinals were the division winners clinching byes, while the Diamondbacks will face a WC Series. That series will be against the Braves to earn the right to face the Mets, while the Cubs will take on the Rockies, the winner going on to face the Cardinals.
